Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month
Dedication to Language and Culture
In addition, Salem-Keizer Public Schools is dedicated to the preservation and development of bilingualism as a superpower for our students. The Dual Language program integrates English speakers and Spanish speakers for academic content instruction through both languages. Students in the Dual Language program learn together and learn from each other, as they share their language and cultural resources. You can learn more about the incredible growth of the district’s Dual Language Programs online.
Coming Up This Month
This month, we encourage all members of the Salem-Keizer community to join together in learning about, sharing traditions and celebrating Hispanic heritage! At its upcoming business session, the Salem-Keizer School Board will also vote on the annual Hispanic Heritage Month Proclamation, which would reaffirm the district’s commitment to supporting and uplifting Hispanic heritage throughout our schools.
Continue to check back here throughout the month as we will be highlighting opportunities to celebrate our community.
